barbie girl

This is my attempt at Tilt/Shift! I decided to photograph my barbies in settings that made them look like they we're doing real human things, which in turn made them look real. This project was a lot harder than I expected! I took over 300 pictures and I had to get down on the ground and photgraph at really awkward angles. I wish I would not have saved this project for last because of all the projects it was the hardest and required the most effort. This project was kind of interesting for me because I used to idolize my barbie dolls. They used to be such a big thing for me. I haven't looked at them in years. It was pretty moving to see something that was once so big and beautiful, look so small. I had a hard time trying to find the "beauty of the barbie". My theme for this project was trying to capture the beauty and enormity of the barbie doll in the eyes of a child. Never the less, I have a basic understanding of the technique and am really hoping to care the skills I've learned from this project, and from this class with me for the rest of my life. I really am going to miss the adreneline rush of a deadline day and the anxiety attacks as I raced to finish projects. Thank you for your help throughout this process, Mr. Kraus :)
